Meet Regina Bartee, the Maker Behind Ginunique
Ginunique Boutique is a handmade, small-batch brand creating thoughtfully designed totes and accessories for everyday life. With a love for fabric, color, functional design, and intentional craftsmanship, I create pieces that bring a little more organization, simplicity, and personality to the everyday.
I'm Regina Bartee, the owner, designer, and maker behind Ginunique Boutique.
My love for fabric and sewing began with my mother. I grew up watching her make quilts by hand, sometimes cutting fabric from her own clothing to create quilts for our family. She taught me about fabrics, threads, needles, and the care that goes into creating something with your own hands.
Because she was visually impaired, she wasn't able to teach me how to operate a sewing machine herself. Instead, she encouraged me to watch a video and learn how to use one. But before I started, she gave me one piece of advice that stayed with me:
“You control the pedal like you are driving a car. The sewing machine will move your fabric, but you can also help it by guiding it with your hands.”
That simple advice helped begin my own sewing journey.
What started with learning to operate a basic sewing machine eventually grew into drafting patterns, exploring construction techniques, working with different materials, and ultimately sewing on the industrial machine I use today.
Creativity Meets Purpose
My creative background extends beyond sewing. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Computer Animation with a minor in Graphic Design and later pursued a Master of Business Administration in Marketing.
Those experiences continue to influence the way I approach Ginunique—from color and visual design to product development, presentation, and the stories behind the things I make.
But sewing is where those creative pieces come together for me.
I especially enjoy making totes, boxy pouches, cosmetic bags, and useful everyday accessories. I love taking fabric and an idea, working through the construction, and watching it become something both beautiful and functional.
I also enjoy drafting and refining my own patterns, choosing materials intentionally, and finding thoughtful construction details that help each product serve its purpose.
